What are the differences between DJI controllers?

drones with camera and video display

DJI controllers can work with any camera brand. The DJI controller that works best for you will work no matter where you are, whether it is in the desert, frozen tundras or at 104oF. This article will discuss the differences among DJI controllers and help to choose the right DJI controller for you. You should also consider these other aspects when you are looking for a DJI controller.

Features

DJI controllers offer many great benefits. These controllers combine the best of a camera, phone and controller in one unit. You can use the screen for live streaming, editing, and recording weddings, wildlife, or photos taken in beautiful settings. Many cameras have social apps and games. To chat with your audience, you can even use the screen of the camera!

Battery life

In just two to three hours, the DJI controllers are fully charged. The battery life varies by model, but the lithium iron phosphate batteries are known to last up to 20 hours on good sunlight. The battery voltage is not linear, so it's difficult to gauge battery power with an accuracy of 20%. Always fully charge your battery before you fly to avoid any damage. After charging, remove the controllers (and charger) from the charger.

Interchangeability

DJI designed two systems to control drones. Ocusync was created and the Lightbridge System. Both systems offer different processing capabilities. The former is a hardware radio solution while the latter is a software-based radio solution that uses off-the-shelf Leadcore SOCs. While the Lightbridge system worked with the Mavic Pro, it's not compatible with the Smart Controller.

Malicious code

The cybersecurity researchers at Synacktiv have uncovered a security flaw in the DJI GO 4 Android app, which powers one of the world's most popular consumer drones. The flaw could compromise the privacy of hundreds, if not thousands of customers. It could even allow the Beijing government to access sensitive information. The company has stated that it took action and is working to resolve the problem. This vulnerability has been found in the DJI GO 4 app, which contains anti-analysis methods.

Price

Although it may be costly, the DJI controller plays an important part in drone operation. Due to the trade war between China & the U.S., this product's cost has risen dramatically. The DJI controller cost $649 in the past. Now it costs $749. You can save money by purchasing the controller in a few different ways. Below are some tips on how to find the best price for the DJI controller.
